Famous First and Last Line

In my previous post, I used a famous quote to begin and end my story. So here's a bit about their (the quotes') stories:

First quote: "I am an invisible man."

This first quote comes from the novel Invisible Man, published in 1952 by author Ralph Ellison, who was born March 1, 1914, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The narrator of the novel, claims to be "invisible", not literally, but to the point where people refuse to notice him. He goes through much hardship throughout the novel that he goes into hiding, living underground. The novel is his retelling of his life and the social and intellectual struggles he faces as an African-American.

Last quote: "...you must go on, I can't go on, I'll go on."

The last quote I use comes from a novel by the name of The Unnamable. This novel is the third in the trilogy written by, Samuel Beckett and was published in 1953. Followed by Molloy and Malone Dies, this novel's protagonist is unnamed. There is no solid plot line or setting. The other characters are even believed to be figments of the protagonist's imagination.

Now while these books sound quite interesting, they are not quite my cup of tea. So I don't plan on reading them. However, if either of them interest you, you should go read them!
